Pacific Voices Music Scholarship
Purpose: Pacific Voices Society, its Board and Staff are committed to musical education at all levels. Through music, we bring glory to God, and inspire joy. The purpose of the Pacific Voices Music Scholarship is to give back to our community of Pacific Voices singers and support them in their endeavors to pursue musical education.
A. Description
The Pacific Voices Music Scholarship, valued up to $2000, is presented annually to a deserving music student with a high degree of proficiency and a serious intent to pursue further musical development at a high level.
B. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
Profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior.
Have been a part of the Pacific Voices Family of Choirs for a minimum of 2 years.
Have a permanent address in the Fraser Valley Regional District
Should be accepted into a music program (either voice, music education or an instrument) at a University with an accredited Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Music program. Minor programs will be reviewed as well with consideration for a portion of the scholarship amount.

2. Letters of recommendation - sent to the Pacific Voices Artistic Director at director@pacificvoices.ca.
One from a music teacher or professor other than a Pacific Voices Director.
One from a pastor, bible study teacher or Christian mentor.
3. Audition video recording
Recording must be a minimum of 2 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes long.
Please perform two contrasting works.
At least one work must be solo, the second can be accompanied.
Upload performance videos at the end of the application.

D. Selection Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated based on musical excellence, clarity of career goals, and the integration of life and faith as a holistic musician. These are to be evaluated by a Scholarship committee consisting of the Artistic Director, one representative from the Board of Directors and another established and accomplished musician from outside of the organization. In the event of a large number of applicants, the Pacific Voices Society may limit the number of audition recordings sent to the adjudicator through a pre-screening process.
First considerations will be for vocal students and secondary considerations could be for proficiency on other musical instruments.
Financial need will be considered, to be evaluated by the Pacific Voices Society.
First time applicants for the Pacific Voices Music Scholarship will be considered priority, while applicants who have been beneficiaries before will be considered only if no other applicants have been selected.
E. Timeline
Submissions are due AUGUST 10, 2025
The winner will be informed via email.
The winner should make every effort to be present at a presentation ceremony at the next upcoming Pacific Voices concert in Abbotsford, if available.
The actual transfer of funds will take place upon proof of enrollment and tuition paid
